Delmar J Garnhart HQ 3 Battalion 422 Infantry Regiment My Dad, Cpl. Delmar P. Garnhart was captured at the Battle of the Bulge whilst serving with the 106th Division and was sent to
Stalag 4-A and 4B. I have records that list both. I am seeking any
information on him or these camps. Also looking for two men
that served with him - Clarence Bahlo and Elmer "Buddy" Helwig.

Pvt. Jim H. Gilmore 422nd Infantry Regiment (d.11th Jan 1946) As a young child, I remember seeing a military document and a picture of my uncle, Jim Gilmor who served in the US Army and died at POW camp Stalag 9B in Bad Orb, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia. My grandmother framed it and hung in her home for all to see and remember the price for freedom, and also to remember her loss of a son. He gave the ultimate sacrifice so others could enjoy the freedom many take for granted.
As I’ve gotten older and reflect on the many family members of mine who have served, I would really like to know what happened to his remains. I was told he was buried there where he died and would like to learn more about where he is. Who thinks of the fallen when they are gone? Who will praise them for giving us freedom and remember them when they helped in liberating the oppressed at the hands of a tyrant? I will. I will be the one to remember you.
If possible, could you advise me on how to go about locating his remains? I don’t know where he rests.

T5 Cpl. Henry Edward Freedman 422nd Infantry Regiment Henry Freedman served with the 422nd Infantry Regiment, US Army in WW2. He was captured 19th of December 1944 at Bliealf, Germany and arrived as a POW at Stalag IXB Bad Orb, 25th of December 1944 and was segregated in barracks 32.
On 25th January 1945 he was sent to Stalag IXA, Zeigenhain and was liberated 30th of March 1945. Henry spent a month in hospital in France and arrived back in the States 9th of May 1945 to be discharged 24th of November 1945.
Henry just celebrated his 98th birthday living in Suwanee, Ga.

PFC Levi Eversole 422nd Infantry Regiment My dad, PFC Levi Eversole, US Army 106th, 422nd was captured in December 1944 in the Battle of the Bulge. He did not speak of his time in Stalag 4B. I have learned by researching on the net. If you have any memories of him, or any information, please contact me.

Curmon Hodge 106th Div. 422 Inf. Rgt, Coy L My grandfather was a POW in WWII. He was in the 106th Division, 422nd Infantry Regiment, L Coy of the US Army. He was a POW in Stalag 9B in Bad Orb. He was older (36) than most of the guys in the camp. Does anyone remember him?

PFC. William Martin Maxwell 422nd Infantry Reg. My father, William M. Maxwell, served with the 106th Infantry Division. 422nd Infantry Regiment was captured on 16th of December 1944. He was interned in Stalag IX Bad Orb Germany until he repatriated on 2nd of April 1945. Since my parents divorced when I was very young I only found out this information recently through research. I would appreciate any additional information about my father.

PFC. Joseph Aaron "Joe" Massey 422nd Infantry Regiment Joseph Aaron Massey was my father. He served with the US Army 106th Divsion 422nd Infantry Regiment and was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge, ending up at Muhlberg, Stalag IV-B

PFC James Lonzo Paradise 422nd Infantry Regiment Our father James L. Paradise was a POW in WWII. He was a member of the 422nd Infantry Regiment. James Paradise PFC, Serial Number 34001914
He didn't talk much about his experiences as a POW but I won't ever forget the tales he did tell. He told us a story once of his camp having potatoe peelings to eat and somtimes only bread and many times nothing. He told us about eating donkey as well. He said none of the men wanted the "end" peice of the bread, so he always took it saying to us he thought it was more bread than a regular slice because it was thicker in the middle. He was roped in the box cars jammed in like cattle,and forced marched barefooted in the snow for 2 or 3 days. James Paradise was a POW in camp Stalag 9B Bad Orb Hessen-Nassau, Prussia 50-09. He was held in this camp until his release when the war ended.

Pfc. Elden Elmore "Harpo" Marks 422 Infantry Regiment Eldon Marks was a Prisoner of War, captured in the Battle of the Bulge. He was held at Stalag 4G Muhlberg, Germany for 6 months.

Cpl. Anthony J. Marino 422nd Infantry Regiment My Dad, Anthony Marino served with 106th Div, 422nd Regiment was a POW at Stalag IVB.
