I’m trying to find out about my great-grandfather and the circumstances of his death. Any history and information regarding my great-grandfather would be would be greatly appreciated.

Additional Information:

I am privileged to be a grandson of Sgt William Henry Grant. He served in the 20th (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, and was killed in action on the 1st July 1916, aged 35 at the Somme. He was the husband of Annie Grant of 3 Tennyson Terrace, North Shields, Northumberland, and was the father of seven children, the youngest, Henry, being my father.
