Lt.Col. Cecil Mainprise
Royal Army Medical Corps No.5 Casualty Clearing Station
Cecil Mainprise was the Commanding Officer of Number 5 Casualty Clearing Station in Corbie and its move to Albert. He took Command on the 11th of November 1915.
Reference War Diary of that date. His signature is illegible for most but he is identified on the 13th of December 1916.
Captain Cecil Mainprise served throughout the First World War in various theatres, eventually becoming a Major-General and Commandant of the Royal Medical College before retiring in 1926. He died in Aldershot in 1951, aged 77.
