260749 Able Sea. Samuel Thomas Abbott Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Howe Battalion from:Little Harrowdon nr. Wellingborough, Northamptonshire (d.7th November 1917) Samuel Abbott is my great uncle,it is only recently I knew he existed.He enlisted in November 1915. He joined the Howe Battalion in November 1916. He received Gun Shot Wound in February 1917. After re-habilitation he was drafted back to Howe Battalion in July 1917. On the 7th of November 1917 he received fatal wounds dying at 10.15 at the 10th Casualty Clearing Station. He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.
