258662 L/Cpl. John Frederick Simister British Army 10th Btn. Sherwood Foresters from:Birch Vale (d.12th Oct 1917) John Simister was born in Wyke, Yorkshire in 1894 but grew up in New Mills and became a clerk in a print works. Unable to find any details of his enlistment or service in the army. He was serving with the 10th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters at his death on the 12th of October 1917.
