Edward Farrell
British Army 19th Btn. Northumberland Fusiliers
We have recently found discharge papers for my grandfather, Edward Farrell.
He was discharged in February 1919.
His name is different to the one on his marriage certificate in 1922.
He enlisted in October 1914. He was born in 1891. He was gassed during the war and apparently lay for about three days in no man's land before he was rescued. According to my father and my aunt he would not talk about his time in the army, but we believe he trained as a machine gunner.
