Frank Flanagan
British Army 9th Btn. Royal Warwickshire Regiment
from:Coventry
(d.22nd Jul 1915)
My grandmother talked to me a lot about her much loved brother Frank Flanagan.
The family moved from Dublin to Coventry in the late 19th century as watch makers.
He volunteered to sign up at the start of WWI with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and died at Gallipoli in the first landing.
Additional Information:
Another employee of the Triumph Co Ltd who laid down his life in the service of the country is Private F. Flanagan, of 28 Craners Road. Though married and having one child he felt the call of patriotism so strongly that he enlisted on September 5th 1914, and joined the 9th Royal Warwickshire Regiment . He recently went to the Dardanelles where he was killed in action. Much sympathy will be felt with his widow and child.
