253806 Gnr. John Henry Smith British Army 9th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery (d.26th Jan 1916) My Grandfather John Smith is buried in the cemetery at Suzanne on the Somme in France. I have not been able to ascertain exactly where he died in action on the 26th of January 1916 and have made several attempts to locate the war diary for this period, but have not been successful.
