William Gardiner enlisted at Keith aged 20, he died of wounds on the 26th of May 1917 and is buried at Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension.
He was the elder son of William Gardiner (Shipbuilder) and Helen Jane (nee Slater) Gardiner of 42 Blantyre St. Cullen, Banffshire.
He was a Bank Clerk.
William's younger brother, Cpl John Slater Gardiner was killed in actionon the 21st of Mar 1918 and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
