Pte. James Cleland
British Army Royal Army Medical Corps
from:50 Lindsay Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland
James Cleland was my late husband's maternal uncle.
We know he was in France for all of the war. He was gassed in 1917, was in a field hospital. On release he carried on on the front line. He never fully recovered from gas and died in 1937 age 42.
