252123 Pte John "Sion" Williams British Army 17th Battalion, D Coy. Royal Welsh Fusiliers from:Cefn Yr Ysoedd, LLandrygarn, Anglesey John Williams joined on the 25th of January 1915 and served during the Battles on The Somme, The Battles at Ypres, The Hindenburg Lines and Picardy. He was gassed and wounded and spent some time in a military hospital at Summertown Camp, Eastbourne. He and 2 brothers survived and lived to a ripe old age. He married, had children and carried on farming, working a lot with horses.
