250638 Sgt. Samuel Ashe Gregg British Army 11th Batallion Royal Irish Rifles from:Muckamore, Co Antrim A native of Muckamore, Co Antrim, Samuel Gregg served in the Ulster Volunteer Force and later joined the 11th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles in which he attained the rank of Sergeant. He fought at the Battle of the Somme with the 36th Ulster Division. He saw service in France and Belgium and was favourably mentioned by his Commanding Officer, Col H R Parkenhim on several occasions.
