Pte. Samuel Gibbs
British army 2nd Btn. Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry

Samuel Gibbs born 1889 in Bethnal Green, joined the Kings Own Yorkshire light Infantry when he was just 14 yrs old in 1903/4 and he was put in the band.
His family had spit up because of his fathers death.
Samuel served through the great war. He was one of the "Old Contemptibles".
He was awarded the Mons Medal.
He was injured sometime during the Great War, but went back to fight with the Royal Engineers.
