Alfred Bacon was born at Danesmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Edward and Elizabeth Bacon. He was a coal miner prior to enlistment 16th August 1910. He was at Crownhill Fort, Plympton, Devon in 1911 and went to France 8th of September 1914 and died a prisoner of war 11th of November 1917.
He is buried in Hamburg Cemetery, Germany.
