247673 Pte. Andrew Gebbie British Army Gordon Highlanders Andrew Gebbie served with the Gordon Highlanders. He did not have an easy life. Both of his parents died before he was five. His sister died the following year. He and his brother were adopted by their father's workmate who died in mid 1917, closely followed by his only brother being killed in action later that year. He married in 1920 and had two sons. His wife died in 1924. His adoptive mother moved in and died in twelve months later. His elder son was killed in 1944.
