William David "Jock" Verth
British Army Connaught Rangers
William Verth was a British Home Child, sent to Canada by the Quarrier scheme.
He at some point escaped Canada enlisted with the Connaught Rangers.
He nearly lost his leg at Messines and was sent to Hanworth to convalescence.
We do know that there was a young lady, Daisy Jewell who worked at the hospital and they fell in love and married.
