246869 Pte. Harry Holdaway British Army Royal Army Medical Corps from:London My father, Harry Holdaway was in RAMC at 62nd General Hospital in Italy. I have an envelope addressed to him dated 31st of October 1916, Italian Exp Force Italy L7. He was a private, trained at Aldershot, sent to Belgium, France. He was mustard gassed at Ypres, then seems to have been sent back to join the RAMC. At the end of the war before he was shipped home, his first wife died of Spanish Flu. His son lived with his aunt and uncle who he called Mummy and Daddy. Everything had been sold, he had no family, nowhere to live, no belongings.
