AM2. Albert Walter Ekins
Royal Flying Corps 100 Squadron
(d.6th May 1917)
Albert Ekins was the only son of Albert Alexander and Ada Ekins of Roxton, St. Neots, Hunts. He served with No. 100 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps and was reported missing whilst flying in a Royal Aircraft Factory F.E.2b Biplane, serial no.A5480 and confirmed dead on the 6th of May 1917 age 19 years. He is buried in Douai British Cemetery, Cuincy. A pupil of Bedford Modern School 1911-13, he is commemorated on the School War Memorial, which was unveiled in 1923 and in the Roll of Honour, published in The Eagle, December 1923.
