246012 Pte. Michael Basil Smith British Army 6th Btn. Northamptonshire Regiment from:Ampthill (d.3rd April 1918) Michael Smith, son of Mr. L B Smith, Linden House, Ampthill, Bedfordshire was born in Ampthill. He enlisted at Luton and served with 6th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment He died of his wounds on 3rd April 1918 and is buried in Namps-au-Val British Cemetery, Somme, France. He is remembered on both The War Memorial and The Alamada, St. Andrews Church, Ampthill.
