244064 L/Cpl. Richard Osmond British Army 10th Btn. Welsh Regiment (d.22nd March 1917) Richard Osmond of the 10th Welsh Regiment was killed on the 2nd of March 1917. I do not know what happened but the war cemetery at Bard Cottage has a large number of graves with the same date carrying the names of soldiers from the 10th Btn Welch Regiment. All I can find is that there was an action which resulted in the decimation of the 10th and which took a year for them to recover to full fighting strength. The date does not correspond with any major battle, such as any of the Somme battles, Passchendaele etc. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
