240357 L/Sgt. Robert William Shields British Army Robert Shields was my grandfather. He survived the War but died when I very young. He was reported missing on 30th of November 1917. (I have the letter from the War Office to my grandmother). I know he was kept a prisoner of war but I don't know where. After the war he lived in Folkestone, Kent. I would love to find out the position of his battalion when he was taken POW. My dad, before he passed away, said that Robert Shields was Mentioned in Dispatches but I have not been able to find any records of this. I would also like to find out which POW camp he was at in Germany. Any help would be much appreciated.
