239019 Pte John Pretswell British Army 1st Btn. Scots Guards (d.14th Sep 1914) John Pretswell is an ancestor I found through genealogical research into my birth mother's family. I was placed for adoption in Glasgow when I was an infant. He would have been part of the original British Expeditionary Force and an early casualty of the Great War. He died in the First Battle of the Aisne. His grave is located in the Villers-En-Prayeres Communal Cemetery in France.
