237187 Pte. Frederick William Lawrence British Army 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards from:Oswestry Frederick Lawrence is my grandad. He did not speak of WW1 except to answer my question upon returning from a holiday in Spain in 1965, "Have you ever been abroad Grandad?", to which he replied "Only once and I didn't much care for it!" He became a mounted policeman in Liverpool and died in 1978 at the age of 83.
