235163 Pte. Leslie Hyde Atwill British Army 13th (2nd Rhondda) Btn. Welsh Regiment from:Cardiff (d.30th January 1917) Leslie Hyde Atwill was one of three brothers who served and died in the First World War. His parents came from Devon and moved to Cardiff before their sons were born. His two brothers moved to Australia and when war was declared they joined up and both died at Gallipoli, Turkey. They were Percy Gerard Atwill and Thomas Alfred Atwill. Their father died before them so their mother was left with just one daughter. Leslie died at the battle of Ypres, Belgium.
