231749 VAD Nina Forbes Voluntary Aid Detachment Yorks 42 from:Stokesley Nina Forbes was brought up at Springfield Villas in Stokesley, North Yorkshire and worked as a governess. During the Great War she worked as a VAD at The Manor House Hospital in Stokesly. after the war she worked as a musician and lived until 1958. Her two younger brothers lost their lives, Alec died at Ginchy on the Somme whilst serving as a Captain with the Warwickshire Regiment William died from wounds in September 1918 whilst serving as a Major with the Royal Garrison Artillery.
