227789 Cpl Joseph Richard Levett British Army 1/5th Royal Sussex Regiment from:Hailsham East Sussex this was my great uncle. He died of wounds after the war. He played football for Hailsham Town and was wounded twice in action. He wrote a letter from the front thanking the town for sending cigarettes to the "Hailsham boys". I did have a newspaper article on A Company (Hailsham) 1/5th Battalion taken at Dover Castle before they went out to France. Joe is in this photo....
