224672 Rflmn. Hyam Woolf British Army 10th Btn Royal Irish Rifles from:Hackney,London (d.27th April 1918) Rifleman Hyam Woolf was my great-uncle. I was born 1935 long after his death. He is buried in the Gwalia Military Cemetery near Poperinghe, Belgium which I visited with my son about 10 days ago. It is stated he died of wounds and would like to know more about his military career and how a Jewish boy from Hackney ended up in the Royal Irish Rifles.
