Royal Scots Fusiliers from:31 Livingstone Court, Muirkirk To the best of my knowledge my grandfather Alexander McCracken served at Gallipoli and was wounded in action. On my father's birth certificate, dated the 12th August 1919, my grandfather was listed as being resident at Bangour Hospital in Edinburgh proving that he was recovering from injuries sustained in action. The only story he told his family about the war was that he had won £100 playing poker on the hospital ship en route back home from Gallipoli.
