Pte. John "Jock" McCoy
Australian Imperial Force 40th Infantry Btn.

Jock McCoy served with the 40th Infantry Battalion, 10th Brigade, 3rd Division of the Australian Imperial Force during WW1. He was born in Kentish and enlisted on the 16th May 1916 at Hobart, Tasmania. He embarked on the 8th August and arrived in England on the 30th September 1916.
He moved to France on the 23rd Nov 1916. He was wounded 4 times, the last being on the 4th August 1918 from a gas attack. He returned to Australia and was discharged on the 13th September 1919.
