218834 Pte. Charles James Meredith British Army 8th (Service) Batallion Gloucestershire Regiment from:Tewkesbury, Glos. UK (d.27th July 1916) CharlesMeredith was born in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire in 1880. He was the son of Thomas and Emmeline(nee James) Meredith. He was married to Agnes Maria (nee Clapham) Meredith. His children were John, William T, Jack Thomas, Lillian May, and Leslie C J. Private Meredith died from wounds he received from the Battle of the Somme in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, July 27, 1915. He is buried in the Cheltenham Cemetery.
