218608 WO1 (Cdr.) Horace Henry Glasock VC. South African Army Transports and Remounts South African Services Corps from:Johannesburg (d.20th Oct 1916) Conductor* Horace Henry Glasock VC served with Transports and Remounts in the South African Service Corps during WW1 and died on the 20th October 1916 aged 36. He is buried in Cape Town (Maitland) Cemetery in South Africa. He was awarded the Victoria Cross during the Boer War, when he was 19 years old, and a driver in 'Q' Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, British Army. Glasock later settled in South Africa and served as a Conductor in the South African Service Corps. Glasock is buried at Maitland Road Cemetery 4, Cape Town, South Africa. He was the son of Henry Glasock; husband of M. L. Glasock, of 149, Sheffield St., Kenilworth, Johannesburg. Born in London, England. * Conductor (Cdr) is an appointment held by a few selected warrant officers class 1 in the Royal Logistic Corps and is the most senior appointment that can be held by a warrant officer in the British Army.
