Harry Cherry served with C Battery, 64th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (Burnley Howitzers) during WW1 and died of dysentry on the 5th November 1918, aged 22. He was listed as a prisoner of war and is commemorated on the Screen Wall in Worms (Hochheim Hill) Cemetery in Germany.
He was the son of William and Alice Cherry, of 63, Thursby Rd., Burnley, later of 53, Windsor Rd., Morecambe.
