William John Brennan was the son of Richard and Fanny Brennan; and husband of Anne Brennan (nee Kinch), of 135, Lower George St., Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
He served with the Mercantile Marine as a seaman on the SS Leinster (Dublin).
He drowned in October 1918 aged 35, as a result of an attack by an enemy submarine, and is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial in London.
