Fireman and Trimmer James Joseph Brennan was born in Dublin. He was the son of James and Esther Brennan; and the husband of Mary Brennan (nee Callanan).
He served with the Mercantile Marine on the SS Moeris (Liverpool), and drowned as a result of an attack by an enemy submarine in June 1916, aged 32.
He is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial in London.
