215292 Pte. John Coyne British Army 7th Btn. Royal Irish Regiment from:Jarrow (d.21st Aug 1918) John Coyne died aged 20 whilst serving with 7th Battalion Royal Irish Regiment. He formerly served with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He was the son of Patrick Coyne and the late Mary Ann Coyne (nee Callaghan) of Jarrow. John Coyne is listed as age 12,at school, living with his widowed father Patrick Coyne, his grandparents and family at 49 Albion Street, Jarrow on the 1911 census. he was born, lived and enlisted Jarrow. John is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial and is commemorated on the Triptych in St. Paul's Church Jarrow.
