Pte. George Bond
British Army 15th Btn. Durham Light Infantry

George Bond, Private 14388, enlisted at Jarrow and served with the 15th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. He died age 21 on the 4th July 1916. He is commemorated on the Triptych in St. Paul's Church Jarrow and is buried in Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe.
George was born in Jarrow, son of John and Elizabeth Bond (nee Ranson).
George Bond age 17 Apprentice Ship Painter in Shipyard is living with his parents John and Elizabeth Bond and family at 48 York Street, Jarrow on the 1911 census.
