James Archbold enlisted in Carmarthen, Wales as Pte. 11560 in the Welsh Regiment and transferred to the 6th Battalion South Lancashire Regiment.
He was killed in action age 30 on the 5th April 1916. He is remembered at the Basra Memorial.
James was born in Jarrow and lived in Haydon Bridge. His medals were sent to Miss Archbold, 47 Woolmarket, Berwick on Tweed.
