William Dodds Gardner British Army 4th Battalion, B Company Northumberland Fusiliers from:Dudley (d.24th May 1915) William Dodds Gardner aged 20, died on 24 May 1915, was the son of John and Jane Anne Gardner (nee Franks)of 6 Augusta Terrace, Dinnington Colliery, Dudley, Northumberland. He was born in 1895 in Jarrow and enlisted in Hexham. From the 1911 England and Wales BMD census his father John Gardner was aged 51 and a widower, occupation was Cartman and horse driver for a colliery coal loader born South Shields. William was aged 15 and coalminer and driver born Jarrow.
