Son of Henry Varley Adamson and Martha Ann Adamson, of Garden Cottage Allotment, Shiremoor, Northumberland. Was originally in the 19th Btn Northumberland Fusiliers with service number 19/1844, Transferred to the 2nd/4th Btn of K.O.Y.L.I. "A" Coy, where he had service Number 63882.
