213011 Pte. William Richards British Army 110th Field Ambulance Royal Army Medical Corps from:West Bromwich William Richards was my grandfather. He played goalkeeper for a local team. He very rarely talked about his time in the war. On occasion he would describe the pain and suffering the young soldiers endured, how he tried to comfort them saying they were going to be fine but in reality he knew there was little hope, there was always sadness in his eyes when he told me these stories.
