211642 Pte. William Evans British Army 9th Battalion Kings Royal Rifle Corps (d.22nd Oct 1917) William Evans was my grandmother's first husband, they had three little girls, the oldest being just three when he was killed. I remember reading letters he had written telling her to be cheerful and formally signing his name. It was all written in pencil. I would love to know more about him and how he died. His name is on the memorial at Tyne Cot.
