209121 Pte. Thomas Henry Edwards MM. British Army Lancashire Fusiliers My Grandfather, Thomas Edwards, at the age of 18, won a Military Medal for his conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty during the British Offensive in Foret de Mormon on November 4th 1918. In spite of very heavy shell and machine gun fire and numerous casualties he carried on his duties of a runner and guide with great courage for four hours continuously. By his action he maintained communication and was of the greatest assistance in assuring the success of the attack in his sector. He joined the Australian army during the Second World War and was killed in action during the fall of Singapore 12th Feb 1942.
