208292 Pte. Harry Owen British Army 17th Btn Middlesex Regiment from:Tottenham, Middlesex Harry was my Grandfather, he signed up using a false name, Harry Owen, he was actually, Harry Marke born in 1897 and was just 14 years old. I believe he went to Ypres and he lost his left arm below the elbow. He was discharged in 1917. My Mum told me he wouldn't wear a sock or useless prosthetic (his words) and proudly showed it off. I met him once when I was around 3 years old, which I don't remember. Mum last saw him living in an hostel for the Homeless in London. We don't know where he is buried, but I am determined to find him. God bless Mum and Grandad, finally reunited.
