207363 Pte. James Burns British Army from:Salford, Lancashire My father James Burns was born in 1892 in Salford Lancashire, he was badly wounded in the battle of the Somme, I cannot find any thing about him in any records I have looked up, but I know he received a pension of ten shillings a week for the term of his life. All the time I knew him he had a bad limp and a indentation in the back of his head and suffered bad headaches. I do not even know which regiment he was in or his service number, he never spoke of the war, this is not much of a story I know but I loved him and will never forget him.
