He signed up the day after War was declared, leaving a pregnant wife (my mother) and small son. He became a machine-gunner.
Took part in Gallipoli landings, which according to brief research places him in 5th Batallion.
Served throughout the war, miraculously without injury. Died peacefully circa. 1958 in Whyteleafe, Surrey.
