2nd Lt. Samuel McCullagh Linden MID
British Army 90th Heavy Artillery. Royal Garrison Artillery
from:Londonderry
(d.31 July 1917)
Samuel is my Great-great Uncle, I have got most of the information about him, but I'm unable to find out why he was mentioned in despatches. Any help in this matter would be great.
Additional Information:
I have also been researching my Great Uncle, Captain Jack Strain, who I have found was killed alongside your Great-great Uncle on 31st July 1917. I have put together a website to commemorate Jack's life which you can view at www.jackstrain.co.uk. The website includes letters that were sent to Jack's parents after his death from the Battery and his wider friends.
I have found a photo of 2nd Lt Samuel Linden on another site which I intend to add to the site later but if you or any other members of Samuel's family have any other information I would obviously be very interested.
