1770 Bdr. Thomas A Sumner British Army 58th Brigade Royal Field Artillery from:Hanley, Stoke on Trent We are trying to find records of our grandfather, Thomas Sumner born 19th October 1883, Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. We never met him and are anxious to trace perhaps a member of his family or any relatives who can help us to track his last days which we believe were spent in Madras, India where he served in the Police Force as a high ranking officer, being Superintendent of Police in Travancore and Trevandrum. We would very much like to know where he was laid to rest as we do not seem able to get any information on this.
