139573 Joseph Oates 3rd Balloon Squadron My husbands grandfather Joseph Oates marriage certificate has him based as follows: 3rd Balloon Squadron Abbey Wood, London.1918 I have tried hard to find any mention of this squadron or anything to do with balloon squad at Abbey Wood. My husband seems to think his grandfather was initially in the Cavalry Can any one point me in the right direction?
