18th September 1918 On this day:    On 18 September the 7th Battalion, Border Regiment launched an attack at Gauche Wood,near Gouzeaucourt, and sustained heavy casualties. 25 killed, 225 wounded (a lot of them died later in the day) and 33 missing.
