Jeremiah McCarthy died at Coombe Lodge War Hospital of influenza and pneumonia following appendicitis. Aged 18.

London Regiment (d.20th December 1918) Jeremiah McCarthy died at Coombe Lodge War Hospital of influenza and pneumonia following appendicitis. Aged 18. He was born in Sligo in 1900 and the 1901 Irisn census states that he was the youngest of 5 children. His father, Jeremiah, was a solicitor. His mother, Mary Louisa, was born in New York, USA. He died 6 days short of 6 months service, so was not entitled to a pension of gratuity.
